I have found that some steelhead flies work better on some rivers, but other rivers not work so well. Many examples that point out this fact in mind helps to come. One about 15 years ago when I Northwest Washington State fly-fishing for steelhead in the Stillaguamish River was. My friend Gordon who lives in the area early one morning I arrived at the mouth of North Fork and I asked him, "Well I should start out with the fly this morning?" His reply was, "try this one" as she made me a fly from your fly box that looked kind of scary given a fluorescent orange wooly. About 15 minutes I was about 10 lbs was a good fish. On this day, the only fish I ever caught on the fly to, I have taken several other steelhead rivers here in Oregon, without success. Red Ant fly a pattern that seems to be a river. The Rouge River is a great fly, but for me, being the only river where the fish catches. steelhead flies about a curiosity: a flight pattern of fishing a year, and next year, it simply work if you do not think the New River for steelhead, fly better with a local Czech fish fly are going to shop or local fly fishing club and find out what steelhead fly patterns that are specific to the river fishing.

For example, the end of your leader that you feel good about the tie on a fly, and that particular "feel" you get that fishing is likely to be it will work. Also, when fishing pressure and fishing is difficult due to warm bright day, time to be with flight patterns that have caught fish over the years tested.
